THANK YOU!!! Our Auction and Raffle yesterday was a resounding success

Submitted by Susan, Tom and Stan

What a day. The Pinsky family home was transformed yesterday with dozens and dozens of quality, donated items, weekend get-aways, gift certificates to fine restaurant and services, that filled tables set out in the family living room, dining room, halls, family room, and even the kitchen. Every item was meticulously cataloged and displayed by Kathy Martin, resulting in a beautiful presentation.
Wine was ready in ice coolers, beautifully presented hors d'oeuvres were arranged, name labels were set up, and then... and then we waited.  At four o'clock pm, the door bell rang.

And then, the fun began.

Friends, neighbors, fellow riders, and many others stopped by. Before we knew it the home was buzzing with friendly conversation, while well over a hundred and twenty people "secretly" outbid each other in our silent auction,

At one point, during the live auction, the enthusiasm was so infectious that wives started  bidding against their husbands!  Rina, Max and Leona's daughter and the girl Tom is riding for, pulled the main raffle ticket - where we gave away 73 bottles of fine wine, in one huge raffle, all donated by participants coming to our event.

Thank you, to our wonderful volunteers: to Lisa Brennan, to Susan's daughter Janet, to Luke Bensler, Shannon Evans, Julia Heyes, Vanessa Holland, Kate Butcher and Tova Pinsky, who were such a tremendous help greeting and serving our guests, and to Leona and Max Pinksy who graciously donated their home for the afternoon.

And a special,  HUGE thank you to Kathy Martin for incredible organizational work she did, and for donating the beautiful painting entitled "Dedicated Love" . The title pretty much sums up the entire event. We were overwhelmed by the support we received from everyone who attended.

At the end of the day,  the auction and raffle made $12,785 in support of Cystic Fibrosis research

Our heartfelt thanks goes to all of you who who helped to make this day one to remember, and a significant milestone on our way this June to the Canadian Rockies.
